well, it kinda sucks but........ all mazda usa corp could give me was..... its a pretty blue color and its called mutant blue. they asked me if i was a reporter and when i said i wasnt...... they gave me the number to their costumer assistance line. and then they gave me the mutant blue answer again.
i need more help |

hehe, i dont think that helps the body shop htough........ for them mutant blue can be purple or something

Mutant blue is not going to be an available color (at least at launch). It was exclusivly made for the X-Men 2 movie. I also might be difficult for a body shop to do the color. It is a blue with specs of purple in it. That would make it difficult and expesive to reprduce aftermarket.

Mazda didnt make and doesnt make thier own paint, so they get it from someone, being as they are owned by Ford and Ford uses BASF I would look to them. BASF is the same comany as R-M as well. good idea...... i tried e mailing and calling mazda, and they didnt know jack...... but ill keep trying...... i got a couple of weeks til the parts that i ordered come in so....... i got a lil bit of time

look at some color charts for those paints its actually tiles that are painted in the color, not a tiny 1" square like normal color charts. You are bound to find something you like.
Expect to pay at least $500 a quart or so, even more for some of the more dramatic effects. Normal basecoats are about $50 a quart, Im giving shop prices, and you still have to get a base and pay for clear. |

$500 for enough for the whole car, again-give or take.

if thats the difference in cost....... then im stickin with innocent blue mica...... and i dont want any of you to help me find out the color cuz that will just tempt me to go for it with whatever i have in my bank account

hahahha, im turning into a ricer after my accident.......... my engine is bone stock except for an exhaust, and the outside is gunna look hooked up as hell

Last cars I painted:
I paid about $500 for my paint, but the clear I used cost me $225 for the kit and I pay 5% over cost, its DuPonts top of the line clear, and the car is 2-tone. The vert I just painted cost me MUCH less because I did it in single stage polyurethane. Im not including primers in the costs either. |
im gunna be broke after this car is done........ there goes the turbo kit i was savin up for
oh well, at least ill get 40hp from the paint j/k |
dont worry about it, get the cosmetics done, then the mechanical
deal with the engine when it needs to be dealt with or when funds allow. |
that will not be for a good while
