I got it into my head that I would put a new, rebuilt, remanufactured or used renesis engine in a sand rail I will be building in the near future. However, I haven't yet found a place online where I can purchase a renesis engine other than in a vehicle. Any help?....Oh and i know the 3 rotor can be amazing and is cheaper, but i have my heart set on strapping a big set of balls on a new renesis engine.

yes the 13bmsp is avalible at your local dealer to buy over the counter but they aint cheap. you may want to look into buyin a jdm motor.
|
How expensive is "aint cheap"?
|
reman is $2400ish, new is $5623.00, and thats the block with no intakes or anything. the mt/high power intakes are another $4k.... then you need to think about the ecu to run it all.....
4 port/AT intakes ar cheaper, dunno if its gonna make power though? |

What the **** is that about? |
Holy hell, and I thought FDs had it bad.

For a rail you would be better off with a carbed 13b or bridge ported 12a although it won't make the torque your going to want for playing in the sand. Why not just stick with the flat four air coooled or maybe the subby flat four? You can get those with the turbo off ebay for around $2500. If you still had your heart set at a rx8 set up then you shoud be going to auctions for a front clip or a totaled car for salvage. Which rail chassis are you using?

I got my msp reman for 2600 at rosenthal plus a 1000 for core....

$4k for the intake manifold? What the **** is that about? there are 3 of them, the lower bit lists for $2116, its got all the actuators and 6 port framii in it. upper upper intake is $433 simple peice of plastic, $172 another piece of plastic, then the tb which is like $300, then you need fuel rails (both of em) 6 injectors, and then something to run the whole mess |
tech speaking there are 2 the plastic part is a 2 pc system but you do have to buy them seperate. The LIM has alot of **** going on with it. I would suggest finding and engine from mazmart that has it all ready to go out of the box. These engines can take a beating in the N-A form.

let's make the manifolds and sell them.
|
if someone wants to send me one i can draw it up in inventor or cad and have some made haha
|
i know someone that already wants to build a custom rx8 intake manifold.....
|
Atkins is working on a manifold with a supercharger & 3mm the apex seals. That should be sweet

We are working on the supercharger & manifold for the Rx8 engine to fit into alternative applications.... like boats and generators and such, so we wont have to seal with the stock computer..............
the 3mm apex seals are to beef the apex seals up alittle as the rx78 ones are not as strong as the earlier years! More later........ '-) |

I know someone selling a Renesis if you're serious about getting one, engine and tranny. But honestly, if you're looking at that kind of money, you'd probably be better off with a 3-rotor, which will definitely provide you with more torque.
