Im looking into buying a new 2005 rx-8 (was thinking about yellow, but i hear theres no more 05s in yellow, its white now, right?) and I was wondering about a few things, hoped you guys could help.

First, are there any substantial changes from the 04 to the 05 ( or even non substantial )

and second, whats the verdict on this greddy turbo kit, anybody got figures and or impressions on it (power, fit/finish, characteristics...)

Thanks in advance

I can assure you the fit and finish on the greddy kit is super nice. Now the tunning on the other hand that sucks. I just got tuned last night and what a HUGE difference. Get the turbo and enjoy it.

Im assuming you tuned on a dyno with a wideband, so what are you looking at with power and torque increases. Also (and somewhat more importantly) how is the profile of the boost (spool time/rpm and feel) Thanks for the advice

Have not dynoed mine yet. I used a map that made 230whp or so.It is some where around there give or take. We did street tuning with a wideband. Anyhow get a ride in one with a turbo and see for your self. I never go off info from forums, just what I have done or rode in.

So you just voided your warranty. Interesting...

so you just voided your warranty and are making basically stock power

Around 230 wheel hp. That is plenty different from stock. Im sure midrange it has more punch and the torque is a lot better.

That's just slightly more than what mazda originally had in mind for the renesis motor before EPA BS forced them to lower performance in teh name of hugging more trees. What they (EPA) should do is target all the coal power plants, the assholes driving SUVs, the idiots who think they need their aircon operating to 19C all day long so they can suck more power while keeping every single light and using the oven to cook a roast while the air con is running.
