1994 Montego blue FD RX-7 in near perfect condition, clean title

5-speed trans. BLACK cloth interior. Yes, not tan as most MB cars are. R-1 rear wing, strut bar and front lip spoiler.

Virtually every reliability modification has been done to this car.

Power steering, power brakes, cruise, AC converted to R134A, ABS, dual airbags.

Brand new paint and newly rebuilt engine. Ever want to see Montego blue like it should look? Most MB RX-7’s are faded or peeling. This car is a fine example and of a rare breed of RX-7s still around. It is getting very hard to find them in this good of mechanical shape and appearance. This car is not “riced out”.

Mileage on chassis: 86,000 original miles.

Engine and drivetrain:

§ Fresh rebuild, less than 200 miles ago. I used the “Rotary Aviation” 2mm 2-piece apex seals. I also used Rotary Aviation’s seal kit for the rebuild. The rotor and rotor housings where in great shape. Main and rotor bearings were replaced as well. The engine was not blown; it developed a coolant seal leak and was not run long with the leak, as there was no evidence of seal drag at the edge of the rotor housing. This engine has no oil leaks as the oil pan and motor mounts are properly sealed. Turbo coolant and throttle body hoses were replaced. Turbo gaskets as well as the lower and upper intake gaskets, throttle body, etc. were also replaced.

§ Turbos are from a low mileage 1995 RX-7. All the boost control solinoids are brand new. Solid 10-8-10 boost pattern.

§ Silicone vacuum lines for all the vac lines under the hood.

§ Silicone intercooler couplers.

§ Metal Air-Separation-Tank, (replaces the plastic one that is prone to leaking.)

§ New battery

§ Drop-in K&N air filter

§ Stainless steel down pipe.

§ All stock emission sensors and devices are in-tact and operational with the exception being the pre-cat. The down pipe replaced the pre-cat.

§ New Mazda plug wires and NGK spark plugs were added at the time of the rebuild.

§ Additional ground straps were added to the engine.

§ Very clean engine bay. No smoke on startup or when driving. Car starts right up hot and cold.

§ NEW 5th gear synchronizer at time of rebuild. We also replaced the 5-th gear select mechanism with the new-design unit. It makes going into 5th gear much smoother. Transmission was filled with synthetic gear oil.

§ NEW Exedy JDM clutch kit.

§ Rear gear oil was also changed to synthetic.

§ NEW fuel filter. If you do not know, the fuel filter on the FD is located above the differential.

§ Borla cat-back exhaust has a nice deep tone. This exhaust has a dual-tip outlet similar to the stock cat-back exhaust system.

Brakes: KVR Performance cross-drilled rotors front and rear. KVR pads. Stainless steel brake hoses. Synthetic brake fluid has been fed through the brake system.

Tires: Michelin Pilots with approximately half of their life left. The stock wheels are not curbed and are in great shape.

Suspension: Stock. Car handles very well. Feels tight and crisp. No shimmies or shakes.

Interior: 8 out of 10. Seats are in great shape. The driver’s side bolster is not torn. Still has the stock floor mats. Leather red-stitch shift and E-brake boot. Non-Bose from the start. New Kenwood door and sail-panel speakers. Alpine stereo/CD player with detachable faceplate. Door panels are in good shape. The driver’s side compartment door is not broken off and the passenger side door handle is not broken either, both of which are common FD items. The steering wheel has some wear as do some of the plastic pieces, but overall, the interior is about as nice as an 11 year old car with 86,000 miles is going to have. Car has the aluminum still strips. The shift knob is in good shape and it is stock.

Body: Ding and dent free. BRAND NEW MONTEGO BLUE PAINT. The paint job is nearly flawless. Door jams, under hood, etc, are not over sprayed. A very reputable local auto body shop did the paint work and ding repair. I have never seen MB look this good. If this is the color you like, then this is the car for you. The car was repainted to repair some dings and the clear coat was peeling. Car has the newer Mazda emblems on the front and back. There is no evidence of any previous accidents or does the Carfax report reflect any.
