So I've got $18,000 and I've decided that I want a 3rd Gen, but not just any 3rg Gen. I want to find the best I can.

I prefer a new motor/turbos, upgraded clutch, rebuilt tranny, and a body kit and some wheels would be nice.

Is that too much to ask for $18,000? Should I wait a couple months and save another $5,000 or so? I don't want HUGE power...300HP to the wheels is enough to keep me PLENTY happy. Besides, I am looking for some decent reliability.

I'm in the Maryland area...I think the RX7 is about the best bang for the buck that I'm going to get so if you have one for sale that's had a little work done to it I might be interested. My email is jarmenta@pheared.net and I've been sitting by waiting for the perfect car. I have a couple options but I want the PERFECT match. I saw some Korean guy in Michigan with an amazing RX7 and I wrote him an email...we'll see what happens with that but I think that car will sell really quickly.

I do mean business so if you're selling something that you think might be a good match, please email me and tell me more about your car.

THANKS!

18,000 will buy you a very nice Rx-7. Best bet is to buy a stock one and learn as you build. However I bought my Fd with new engine, tranny, turbos for under 13k https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

Wow! That sounds like a great deal! I currently have a 2002 Audi A4 that I take meticulous care of. I've thrown some money at it and realized that the RX7 is a far superior platfom in terms of getting the performance I want. So, here we are!

:O)

CourageOO7 09-07-2003 08:15 PM

Thanks...messages sent...

not really looking for huge power, it appears both of these guys have big power. Really, I want a daily driver that's in great shape...I like quick, but not death trap fast...hehe

94touring 09-07-2003 08:29 PM

I'm sending you another email right now with details. My car is great for the street, i've been daily driving it for over 2 years with a single turbo. If you want less power you can always turn the boost down. Believe it or not, the car has been more reliable after I went single turbo than before.

CourageOO7 09-07-2003 08:32 PM

Oh, I believe it because going single takes care of tons of vac lines and the solenoids and stuff. How many miles on the motor? Good compression? What about the turbo?

How many miles on the body and what kinds of issues have you had with the car? Have you rebuilt the tranny?

94touring 09-07-2003 08:38 PM

25k on the motor, it has good compression. Turbo only has 5k on it and it perfect. Chassis has about 102k and is solid as a rock, especially with the suspension mods I have, which is all adjustable. Tranny was rebuilt when I bought the car about 30-35k ago and has no grinding. Only issues I had with the car was when I had stock twins and had boost problems constantly. Since i've gone single turbo I have only had a clutch go out on me. Very mechanically sound car.

CourageOO7 09-07-2003 08:43 PM

Why are you selling the car? It sounds great...I would probably have it tuned with another setting on the boost controller so that I could drive it with about 275HP to the wheels for everyday commuting.

I am definitely interested. Please email me pics of the exterior and interior. By the way, I am in MD so we'd have to work out some sort of shipping...

CourageOO7 09-07-2003 08:45 PM

Man, I hate to sound like a wimp but I really wasn't looking for that kind of power. I was hoping more to pay for the quality of the condition of the particular vehicle rather than the huge power it makes. Are you sure this thing isn't too nuts to be driven daily? I have a 30 mile commute to work on the highway...you don't have any overheating right?

94touring 09-07-2003 08:47 PM

I just moved from NC to OK to go to flight school and need money for extra flight time. I'm too busy to play with the car like I want anyways. My email is dans3300@juno and I sent you pix a littler earlier. Let me know if you want more pix.

I also recently replaced the carpet in the car too and swapped out the seats.

94touring 09-07-2003 08:48 PM

I drove it to work and back 30 minutes 1 way for about a year, till I moved closer to work then it was about a 15 minute 1 way trip. Had zero overheating problems in the humid summers of NC.

Dramon_Killer 09-07-2003 09:53 PM

That car is gorgeous. If i were to recommend any single turbo FD it would be 94tourings.

94touring 09-07-2003 11:11 PM

Talked with 007 for about an hour on the phone, he's a cool guy.

CourageOO7 09-07-2003 11:16 PM

Hell yeah I'm cool! 94touring is psycho...he's got a 425HP RX7 and an 85HP Mini and he's selling RX7?

hehe

papasmurf 09-07-2003 11:49 PM

mine is also for sale, cheaper than some others here, still stock looking and all, but has ABOUT 315 to the wheels on stock twin turbos. all but 6 vac lines are gone as well (im thinking on going single). i may be able to let the price drop on mine so the next buyer can get it painted (isnt the worlds BEST condition, but isnt really bad either ). im not going to type everything out (in my sig). pm me if interested. btw, id go with 94touring's car, his has been for sale almost as long as mine has, but his is faster... much much, faster.

Where in MD are you?

wael.el-dasher@efini.net 09-22-2003 08:58 PM

I found this clean car on ebay, only 18k original miles! 1 owner.
