'93 RX (touring) for future sale
#1
I hope I am not behaving badly by posting this "for future sale" message, but in order to make the car more acceptable, I need the time to address some of it's issues (and I need the time to say goodbye to a good bud.) Details below:
65,000 miles, new engine at 28,000 (former owner)
ECU replaced at 28,000
Tranny rebuilt at approximately 55,000 (lost reverse)
No mods except K&N, ground upgrade, and cat-back with Thermal Research Muffler (after reading the "Project RX7" series of articles in SCC, I determined to stay nearly stock.)
Oil, filter always changed at 2K intervals (Castrol Syntec Blend.) Coolant changed at 2 year intervals w/Water Wetter. Temp. needle has never gotten close to half.
Still strong - will smoke my new WRX no sweat (in case anyone was wondering) except in the wets, of course.
New Khumo Ecsta 245X45 ZR16s.
Not a smoker (wish I wasn't)
All receipts available (including former owner's.)
Current issues:
Front rotors slightly warped (will turn or replace with Powerslots)
Leaking oil pan (probably won't fix, as it has been done before and didn't "take.")
Power sunroof defective (motor works, but has probably stripped a plastic gear); hope to fix (will still open with manual assistance.)
Power antenna defective (same as above); may fix.
Dings and dents...I can live with them, but others may find them offensive, ha...; will not fix.
Bose stereo needs repair/replacement; will fix.
In Va. we have acid rain...and it definitely takes a toll. Car looks good at 10 ft., paint very pitted upon close inspection; will not fix.

We do go on about these cars, don't we? Price will come in under 10K, perhaps significantly less, depending on how much I get around to repairing. Added plus: I have just retired (51) and am willing to bring the car to you, assuming you are not west of the Mississippi. It would turn into a mini-vacation.
PM me if interested. You have plenty of time to ruminate...

PS: Let me know if the photo attached made it through - I cannot see it in "preview" mode.

I've never gotten around to buying myself one. under 10k is very tempting. I don't know much about major mechanical work, so that's been my hold-up. Probably won't get around to buying yours because I'm lazy, sorry. I have a '99 Olds. Aurora with ~65k miles. Would be very willing to sell if interested (not sporty and exotic, but 250hp)
