I bought these just recently, but changed plans. They are Original RE-A lenses. They are slightly tinted/smoked and have never been used. Asking what I payed for them - $205 shipped.

Plan B: New RE Amemiya sleek light kit with ducts..

http://www.rotaryextreme.com/tokyo/rewhitegt1.jpg

Just like the one on this car, except the duct will be on both sides.

Is the ducting really necessary? I'd say mainting both low and high beam operation would be better. Unless you've got a vented hood you're just increasing the air pressure under your hood, causing it to experience even more pressure from underneath. I don't know about you guys, but my hood's bouncing around because the latch has cut a small divot in the hook on my hood!

The new RE kit looks good though, definitely a much better improvement over their old setup (IPF lights I believe?). How much does a new RE-A kit go for, with both lows and highs?

FourtyOunce 04-10-2004 02:32 AM

Ducting helps out, and BTW, I do have a Mazdaspeed replica CF vented hood ..

JT-Imports 04-10-2004 04:42 AM

FourtyOunce----They are nice. We have a set with ducts on both sides leaving tomorrow or monday, very nice. I think they look good like that IMHO, even though Im not much of a fan of most sleek lights I like those.

Also I was going to add they arent new(well NEW Product) we have sold a couple sets, dont know where they are now haha, but they arent new we have had them on our page for over a year or 2 now.

On the ducts, most of the companies that have them PANSPEED, RE-Amemiya, Scoot and a few others all have direct ducts to the Single straight from the duct, which is cool, as long as you have some sort of screen for the big stuff (dirt, junk of the road etc..)

Other side, nice for a little extra air and the "Symetry look" as someone put it before..

Highbeams are overrated anyways....... all you need need is a working horn and a middle finger

I'd like to know how you are routing the "ducts", I have the covers off my east bear's right now, and I can see no possible place to fit a tube, unless you hack out some metal.

To install the Re-Amemiya's you HAVE to cut out tons of metal. I found that out the hard way....ended up using a dremel to get the last remaining **** out. It was the biggest PITA to do https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/angry.png

The new kit should come with a replacement bulb that changes the light so you can use the high beam.
