I need to buy rims...i'm looking for the ENKEI AEGIS RIMS ...i was wondering if any of you guys have a hook up and what your opinion is on these rims!!

Thanks alot, CHris

RussellTT94 01-07-2004 02:38 PM

those wheels look great, but i believe that they have been discontinued for a couple of years now

blaze08 01-07-2004 02:54 PM

Any idea on how to get them?? Damn that sucks!!

Rxmfn7 01-07-2004 04:24 PM

I believe the Konig Imagines are a copy of that wheel..and look almost exactly the same. You can find those for sale almost anywhere, and are fairly cheap.

93 R1 01-07-2004 04:48 PM

good luck

blaze08 01-08-2004 03:38 PM

Dammit i'm not getting any luck.......

vspecpgt 01-08-2004 04:38 PM

vspecpgt 01-08-2004 04:39 PM

Sometimes going to the source is the best thing you can try first. The Aegis have not been disscontinued, Enkei would be crazy to do so.

Here you go, one of the greatest rims ever created my man,

blaze08 01-08-2004 11:37 PM

hhhmmm....so how do i get em......besides spending the big bucks on ENkei themselves..........Is it only through them or is there another dealer that sells them??!

I'm not sure that Enkei has a distributor, and if they do, I haven't heard of them. So, Enkei will be expensive (about 1.2K for an 18x10 in either chrome or silver) but NOBODY's gonna sell you these rims for less.

E-Bay is always an option, but I don't recommend it unless the seller is close so you can see them and pick them up. You could try getting them from Japan too, don't know what that would be like financially or in a timely manner, but these things are the cream of the crop in mesh rims.

Good Luck, I'll be happy to help you however I can, just because I freaking LOVE these things. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...>/bubbrubb.gif

blaze08 01-09-2004 12:16 PM

THanks alot man! So it's about $1200 for each rim?? Damn that's alot!!

It is, another alternative is HRE in that price range, you can choose color, offset, etc. with them though so that's a plus.

AMRAAM4 01-09-2004 04:32 PM

I too have been under the impression the Aegis was discontinued. Guess it is time to start calling around if you are really interested.

those look NOTHING like Enkei Aegis rims.

there was a guy benny selling the rims around August, so do a search

limiting the search to the for sale section, and

maybe try to PM/email him and see who he sold the rims too and

maybe that guy wants to sell them now?

by the way, when those rims where new, chrome plated were $700-$800

new and the hypersilver ones were cheaper, they were nowhere near $1200

a rim ever.

Enkei:

They're not identical, but pretty close I think. I was just offering another suggestion since the Enkeis seem hard to find and very expensive.

Rob x-7 01-09-2004 06:22 PM

good looking out, in person though they dont look the same, there

is something about the aegis, only when you see them in person

would you know.

I know there is only so much you can do with a mesh rim, but enkei

did a nice job with the aegis, here is those Konigs by the way:http://www.ultracar.com/The%20Wheel%...%20IMAGINE.jpg

vspecpgt 01-09-2004 07:12 PM

damm dude, i just saw this post. i was in florida since december 26 with no internet axcess. i have a set of 18 x 9.5 rear and 18 x 8.5 front that i might consider selling for $2500. they have less than 600 miles on them. the tires still have the little stubs on them. i even have the instructions and the thin socket that came with them. i love these rims, these are my second set. check out the link for some pics

how much are these Srce?

Mazderati 01-10-2004 05:13 PM

HRE, Forgeline, I-Forged, Fikse and the like are all priced similarly in the neighbourhood of $1,000 per wheel from the manufacturers themselves.

The Konig Imagines are a copy of the Work Rezax II.

blaze08 01-11-2004 04:28 AM

HHHHHHMMMMMMM nice!! I am so tempted!! I have to get back with you!! on the ENkei...

The 540R is 1,200 for an 18x9 rim, and like 1,300 for an 18x11!!! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/boink.gif
