I've got a front mount oil cooler from my '82 12a. This was working great until it developed a crack in the threaded section of the bypass valve.
The pictures below show the cracks, there's actually 2. It's been noted on this board that this can be fixed by shaving off the end of the threaded section and welding a ring into place. They say it's a $25 job. This part comes from a very well maintained car that's been owned by a father and son since brand new. Take a look at how both the top and bottom of the cooler are completely straight, no dents, you won't find many like this at all. Most with fins and lines in worse condition will run $90-$120. A new one is almost $700! So now's your chance to get one that needs just a little welding to be in fantastic shape. It's a great upgrade to the 83-85 beehive for those cars with upgraded engines or intended for racing. It's also much less prone to leaking. Located in Loveland. I'm asking $60. I will negotiate on that. Attachment 17673 Attachment 17674 Attachment 17675 Attachment 17676 Attachment 17677 |
