Fuel cut defencers for 2nd gen RX-7's ('86-'92),waterproof and heat resistant. FCD comes precalibrated, just plug it in to the boost sensor and your done. Rugged physical design; Casing is made from polycarbonate (4 times more impact resistant than glass). Safe at any level of boost. Doesn't raise level for fuel-cut.... eliminates it.

only thing it don't like is

...Safe at any level of boost...

and that is just not true.

Yes it is, normal FCD's just change the slope of the voltage vs. atmospheric pressure sensor reading. This one acts as a clamp. As soon as it hits the preset level, the curve flattens off completely, this FCD also remains as close to normal throughout the range of boost, where some others will read too low too early. Obviously this is dangerous to your engine, if you don't have the fuel capabilities to support higher levels of boost the FCD isn't going to help. But that is another consideration entirely. Cheers.

The main problem with these FCD's is that above the clamping point, the mixture leans out= bits of apex in exhaust. Why bother. Go for aftermarket management then you can tune all your parameters.

The farther above the clamping point, yes the mix leans out more. But unless you intend on running 18lbs of boost on the stock turbo (for example), it won't make a difference if your injectors are good. If you want to run lots of boost on an after market turbo then these FCD's aren't for you. A lot of people don't want to spend the money and time to get an aftermarket managment because they don't want that much out of their 7's. If you are looking to make lots of boost, the stock computer should have been replaced long before you ever considered getting an FCD.
