I think once and for all someone should finally explain what this damn thing is, and where it gets hooked up.

I'm sorry, but to just send $300 to buy some "thing" is absurd to me.

FikseRxSeven 04-01-2004 09:14 PM

why keep it such a secret...... if its a good device, people will buy it.

is it so simple that people can actually copy this?.... is that why its such a secret?

Dramon_Killer 04-01-2004 09:56 PM

April fools day?

-=RX-7 KID=- 04-01-2004 10:13 PM

RIGHT !!!!

mazdaspeed7 04-01-2004 10:27 PM

Im willing to bet its an ignition timing controller that uses ion-sensing technology to "read" the combustion process, and alter the ignition timing accordingly. Ion-sensing does for ignition what O2 sensors do for air/fuel ratio.

Saab has used it on production cars, and theres a lot of info to be had on the internet. Happy hunting, and I hope I didnt spoil the "secret."

TURBOX2 04-01-2004 10:43 PM

you didnt i promise https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

Kathy Atkins 04-01-2004 11:43 PM

https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png Hey Checked it out I know him very well. I will give him a call tommorro and let you all know what he says... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/ohmy.png Skip Gorman

pg-unlimited 04-01-2004 11:46 PM

All, we are very sorry for being so secretive with this device; we are just looking to protect our interest in the matter. The device could be easily copied and so we will try to saturate the market as much as possible before that happens. Please visit the Official site at www.pg-unlimited.com Skip Gorman has licensed this product to finally be sold via this site and also through several RX-7 tuner shops around the country. With pre-ordering starting on April 2, 2004 and a ship date of May 1, 2004, this will allow us the time required to finish up recruiting and contracting the remaining tuner shops interested in becoming dealers. On May 1, 2004, if everything goes well with recruiting, all your questions will be answered and full technical information will become available. Feel free to contact Skip or I, we will be happy to further explain this process with you.

PS. The talks about ion this and timing that, you will be surprised that this device is nothing of that nature. This product is based on no other technology available in today's market.

Thanks for your time.

FikseRxSeven 04-01-2004 11:58 PM

would this product work for modified vehicles as well as stock?

pg-unlimited 04-02-2004 12:04 AM

Yes, you can add this to a modified rotary as long as it is tuned by a licensed RX-7/8 tuner shop.

Thanks,

Steven

licensed meaning? with your product? or in general?

pg-unlimited 04-02-2004 12:09 AM

Shops who are licensed to carry the product will also have special training classes to tune with the device.

Steven

FikseRxSeven 04-02-2004 12:11 AM

would you be able to give us a list of these shops? obviously its not worth while for me if there are no authorized tuners around my area

pg-unlimited 04-02-2004 12:27 AM

As www.pg-unlimited.com has stated, a list of licensed tuners will be provided by May 1, 2004 to help debut the product. Let me assure you sir, once people start providing feedback about this product you will want to make the trip to a tuner to have this mod installed.

Kathy Atkins 04-02-2004 12:28 AM

Is KD Rotary an authorized shop?

How many have signed up?

What does it take to sign up if you are a shop?

Will Skip answer these? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png (I really like Skip we go back along ways)

pg-unlimited 04-02-2004 12:53 AM

Yes, I belive KD Rotary will be a licensed tuner shop if they wish to be so. We have two others which are in negotiations and to be a tuner shop you will have to contact Skip to discuss the details.

Unfortunately, Skip does not have time to answer the forum boards these days. He will answer e-mails sent to him at sgorman@pg-unlimited.com.

Thanks,

Steven

FikseRxSeven 04-02-2004 12:57 AM

sooo....... just like water injection, this can be an extra insurance for high boosting high powered rotary engines?

pg-unlimited 04-02-2004 01:18 AM

That's correct. There is no "cure all" for detonation but it brings the safety margin really high. The device only weighs in under 1 pound.

Thanks,

FikseRxSeven 04-02-2004 01:24 AM

mechanical or electrical?

TURBOX2 04-02-2004 09:38 AM

hahaha...pre-order and you will find out...

TURBOX2 04-02-2004 09:39 AM

hahaha...pre-order and you will find out...well may 1 i mean!

Silver Ninety Three 04-02-2004 09:44 AM

i want one

dcrosby 04-02-2004 11:25 AM

When you say it needs tuning by an authorized shop, what if you have a non "mainstream" ecu, like wolf, AEM, Microtech etc... Do these shops have the qualificatrions to "tune" these cars as well !? Or are we talking strictly, Haltech / Motech / Power FC !?

-DC

pg-unlimited 04-02-2004 11:25 AM

I'm proud to announce that KD Rotary from Nazareth, PA and Rick's Rotary Performance from Pleasanton, CA have signed up to be licensed dealers for the Anti-Detonation Device. We will be helping these shops get geared up for a full product release by the end of April 2004.

Thanks,

Steven Hyde

1Revvin7 04-02-2004 11:31 AM

Will therebe a list of all the tuners on the website?

Kathy Atkins 04-02-2004 12:04 PM

https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png talking to skip right now, says works better with after market ecu. for finer tuning. works good with stock applications

FikseRxSeven 04-02-2004 03:20 PM

what is the "after" pre-order price?

i'd rather wait this out til there is more detail about this

TURBOX2 04-02-2004 05:38 PM

The "after" pre-order price could go up. As supply and demand goes up so to can the price you just never know...My advice would be to pre-order (I promise you will not be dissapointed in results)!

FikseRxSeven 04-02-2004 05:42 PM

does it need to be professionally intalled? or is it a diy kit?

TURBOX2 04-02-2004 05:59 PM

The product doesnt necessarily need to be installed by a professional, however it DOES need to be professionally tuned!

--Nick

redfdforme 04-02-2004 06:13 PM

i had it done by skip on my fd and the way he explains it is that the proper tuning is just as important as the mod itself. if not tuned properly the mod won't work and of course it will be blamed on the mod itself.

i'm going back to get the final tuning done soon and it will be good to 20psi on pump gas safely. skip told me we're gonna try 22psi and see what the intake temps look like, and if they stay at a reasonable level we'll leave it at that for now.

This "thing" sounds great, but I'll be damned if I shell out $300 for a product that I've never seen, read a review on, or learned how it works. Sorry if I'm stepping on toes... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub..._DIR#>/dry.png

redfdforme 04-02-2004 06:46 PM

its understandable, but you have to look at the installer. k.d. is definitely a reputable shop and i don't think they would ruin their rep with by selling something that doesn't work. imo

Rx7aholic 04-02-2004 08:35 PM

It sound like they offering a computer to retard timing and cut boost level off at the same time, that's why it need professional tuneing.
