Well I tired to see if I coud get something out of Mazda, some free crap, have them send a rep. etc. Well I got a t-shirt, and the letter below. And they wonder why they can't get people behind their product!

ColinRX7 04-10-2004 04:13 PM

That's gay.. Mazda always seems reluctant. It depends on your area I guess. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/dunno.gif

Rob x-7 04-10-2004 04:42 PM

they could have at least not sent a form letter

"the ( insert event here ) is very noble and honorable"

at least they wished you sucess!

FiKsE l2X SeVeN Jr 04-10-2004 05:26 PM

they definately deserve my avatar!!!! And i think from now on, everybody with a mazda switch to the old emblems or the efini. So if sombody asks what car it is, just say "it's not a mazda" or atleast "it's not a mazda from north america dammit"

turbovr6 04-10-2004 05:29 PM

maybe I should have told them it was a v-8 mazda show LOL

Rob x-7 04-11-2004 10:39 AM

I should also hang up a copy of that letter, lol

TYSON 04-11-2004 11:20 AM

Have you tried local dealers? They might be interested if there's going to be so many 7's showing up!

j9fd3s 04-11-2004 12:45 PM

our complaint about mazda is that they tell us to sell more parts, and then they either dont want to sell them (cosmo parts, comp parts), or they dont have them (98-02? 626 parts).

its so hard to get them to actually convince them do do stuff, its kinda wierd cause they really arent that big.

amp 04-11-2004 03:20 PM

try mazda japan..

Rotaryman88 04-11-2004 08:37 PM

I have that shirt..its white w/ a red mazda emblem and says mazda on it. The guys at my "local" mazda dealership are rotary guys themselves. One salesman has had I believe 3 FBs and just sold one to another salesman..an '85 GSL-SE(that's now for sale again,lol)..also, one of the old service department guys worked with or for Peter Farrell a while ago..I could talk to them and see what they may be able to get from mazda...is there anything in particular you wanted to have from mazda for the show?

Eyxom 04-11-2004 09:08 PM

lmao... I'm going to print that up and pin it to my wall.

amp's got a good idea with going to Mazda Japan. See if they can do something.

Jims5543 04-11-2004 09:36 PM

I do not know what kind of sponsorship your looking for but Mazdaspeed offers parts for your race car at prices close and sometimes more than 50% of list. Mechanics cannot get these prices.

All you have to do is either prove your building a car to race in the thext year or show you are racing and bam! your sponsored.

I would bet Jay that you haven't gotten your request into the right hands yet. MOst likely some cocksucker who is a miata fan is the guys who refused any involment. Really all they would have to do it show up with a booth. Pass out some t-shirts and stickers etc for the RX-8 A smart man would have seen the business opportunity there. They could have sold at least a dozen cars at the event most likely.

If these clowns don't get their **** together we RE enthusiats better start praying for some other company to emerge with a rotary platform. Time for a new car company if you ask me.

noticed on the mazdausa site that they have a section for events and gatherings..

how bout the idea of registering the event there...

also, if someone could write out a letter and post it with mailing directions, we could get alot of people on the forum to send it. Maybe by showing them just how many mazda owners will want them there, it could help motivate em, or we could just do it for next year, but i think there is power in the numbers thing.
