i sent this guy a message saying that his car wasn't an SP. all the one's i've seen were late '70s(after '76). but he insists his is. he sent back saying that it's from Tx and the title says it's an SP.

The guy must be on crack! The SP was only produced in 1977 with latter production 77's coming out as 78 models. Ergo, the SP's production years are 1977 & 1978. Only about 1,500 SP's were ever produced and they were made specifically for sale in the U.S. only. Ask him if the rear passenger windows roll down. (If he says yes, it is definitely NOT AN SP.) But then again, even if they don't roll down it can't be an SP and be a 1973 at the same time, he just has a modified RX3. Some of the other differences between the SP and other RX3's include: 5sp factory trans, and optional racing decals and rear spoiler, louvers and front air dam. I sent him an email when the car was first listed about this and he didn't reply. One last thing - If that car was an SP and being that clean it would be selling for way more than a mere $3,500. It would be over $10,000 right now. I am the current owner of my 2nd SP right now (the one I had now and previously were both 77s).
