A few months ago while visiting v8archie.com (I used to work there a while back) in barrington, IL I spotted a mid 70's yellow GT6 parked in a lot that looked like it hadnt moved for years. This car has some nice sporty lines to it and is really tiny, I think it would work great as a home for a 13BREW. Any of you know anyone who has converted one of these old triumphs to rotary power? Any comments on the results? One of the spitfires would also be cool, but I really like the rear end styling of the GT6, which the spitfire simply doesnt have being a spider.

You could use one with either a TII or FD transmission. You could make a custom driveshaft to connect to the rear, but you would probably want to get an upgraded rear. I have no idea as to what wiould work, but you could always go with a custom 4 link setup with a Ford 9". <_<

ur going to have to change the rear suspension on that...as GT6's and spitfire's rear suspension is utter rubbish. There swing-axle and suck...really bad torque-steer...handle like poos. Do yourself a favour and chuck it in a MG midget or Austin Healey sprite https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

These things are never quite so simple, you have to know what to look for, mkII and early mkIII GT6's had double wishbone rear ends, well worth having, this sorted the jacking problem that other spit's & GT6's had......the last one went back to swing axles...for cost reasons hoping no-one would notice!

They are beautiful cars and the addition of a rotary would be perfect, the original engine is far to heavy and low revving...but do avoid the swing axles!

Grassroots Motorsports did a Spitfire conversion to a 13Bn/a. It is basically the same, but you have more room with the longer hood.

i measured up my tr3 this weekend, not only is it tall enough to accomidate the fc suspension, but the 20b is only 2" (the water pump pully) longer than the stock triumph motor....
