I was reading threw a mazda book i picked up and managed to gather some info i never new existed. Anyone ever hear of these? i know they are JDM only. never sent to the states. It was the only FWD rotary car, and had a 13a. not a 13b. Just wanted to see if anyone knew more about these. Maybe some pics? i haven't had luck yet.

Oh. I found some stuff.
Mazda R130 Unveiled in October 1969 at the 15th Tokyo Motor Show, the Mazda R130 (Luce Rotary Coupe ) ran on a Type 13A engine, newly developed for the vehicle and featuring two 655cc rotor housings. Its thrilling high-speed cruising was thanks to its quiet engine and aerodynamic body design that eliminated the front door quarter lights. http://www.mazdarx8.co.uk/sycomax/pi...zda_r130_l.jpg |
As far as I know it is the only production engine Mazda made with a different stoke.
ie. 10A, 12A, 13B all have the same eccentric shaft offset, but with different width rotors. 13A had a larger offset giving it more torque but not as free reving. |
Yeah I know they made the fwd Rotary and other companys who brought the engine from Mazda like Mercedes Benze c111,btw real name for the 130 is Mazda Rx-130 FWD coupe. Other cars are Mazda Roadpacer, Mazda Parkway 26 Bus
