Fellas, I bought this 70 Toyota a couple of weeks ago and i've been working on it non-stop ! The car is recieving a fresh paint job back to it's orginal color (white) by the end of this weekend. I also drop the interior off, so things should be looking good soon ! The Toyota engine is being replaced with a 13B 6port from my 79GLC. The car from factory weighs a little over 1550 lbs so, she should move quiet well after the conversion. My next area of attack will be the differential. I'll post some pic's in a couple of days ! Finally got the engine in the car a couple of days ago. It was a really tight fit but all pan out at the end. I wasn't able to use the T2 trans due to the bell housing being way to big for my little car. The 79 trans fit perfect without any excessive modifications. I purchased a disassemble header from RB and had it welded at a local shop. Next, will be the modification of a rx-3 radiator in this tight space !
|
Lookin good!! Could you please post a picture of the engine mount area? I'm in need of new ideas please.

Can anyone tell me about modifying the T2 trans shifter forward about 4 inches ? You can use a B2600 truck 2WD tranny and use a rx4 or turbo II bellhousing. The tranny is way shorter than the turbo II tranny and you wont have to cut the shifter florr. The truck d-shaft is the same as a turbo d-shaft If your worried about the firewall you should cut and lift it a bit since you will want to install a scater sheidl or protecter. Your feet will thank you later. |
looks good!

It's been a while since i've updated my process. Well, the cars is 95% complete at this point. She start right up and drive's as well. The car is currently having the front struts move in about 1.5 inches in. I was able to convert the front drums to disc brake as well as the rear. I also replaced the stock rear with a 4.37 Datsun rearend. Man, there's so much other stuff but i can't think of it at the moment. I'm really happy with the over all process and i'm going to post pic's as so as she is completely running on the road.

Wuz up fellas ! Well, its been awhile and i thought i'd give an update of the toyrota ! She's finally on the street and a daily driver at that. I just put a "93" rotary in it, thats has a BP on it as well. Had to get a intake made for it so, that i could still use my 48 IDA on it. It's has definitely woken up with that engine in place. I'm using an 79 trans thats hold up really nice thus far. I'll try to post some recent pic here in the next few days.

Sweet, pics would be nice.Glad to hear its a DD now too.
