hey all,

so my plan is to swap in a 13b-rew twin turbo out a of a 3rd gen rx7 (gotta love JDM) into my 93 b2200 regcab short box. my engine swap setup shall be arriving soon (engine, tranny, harness, ecu, turbo setup, intake, etc.) and theres a few things i'd like to ask before i get into this.

#1 cooling. i'm wondering if the stock rad i have now (its a brand new dual core rad for an automatic) will cut it with the new 13b-rew with the factory twin turbo set with the original ecu and wiring?

Seeing as how the stock FD radiator is tiny you'd pry be ok. Nevertheless If you've got everything torn out and what not it might not be a bad idea to swap in a Koyo or the like while you're at it.

just monitor the temps with the setup initially...

dealwithit 08-02-2007 03:20 PM

ok thats good to hear. what should i be looking at for a good running temp? (and ill have electric fans running on the rad probably just on keyed power.)

oh and for oil cooling. will i need to runn a seperate oil cooler or can i use the auto tranny cooler part of my rad for this?

thanks

I would just pick up a OC out of a 2nd gen. Then you know that everything will operate the way it is supposed to.

Why don't we have pictures yet? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.gif

Nice setup.I bet you can't wait for winter now.If you have a bit of extra money kicking around you might as well buy a larger oil cooler for it.On mine I have the 2600 rad and a Hayden heavy duty oil cooler.Especially with the heat you guys had there so far.

dealwithit 08-06-2007 01:03 AM

hmmmmm i got a line on a stock one from a turbo ll for $25 then i was thinking ill go with that and a nicer rad being as my 2.2L sits at about half on the temp gauge with a 180 thermostat. i'll check it out tomorrow and see if it looks big enough.

do a compression test when the engine arrives, save yourself some headaches if its blown...
