that v8 mr2 is friggen awesome.

im from australia, perth to be exact. well i will look into the ins and outs of this project as much as i can. my plan is 2nd generation mr2 though, not the 1st like that v8 monster. what rx7 engine would u say would best suit this type of project???

N/a definitely, forget all the hassle of the turbos and cooling them, and you'll have a smaller engine to worry about too. If you're worried about power you'll be able to get enough of it with ITB's to cause grief for 90% of transverse boxes.

I know it's your project but I'm a way bigger fan of the mk1's https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.gif If I wasn't gonna stick a rotary in one of them I'd be going for a more straight forward front engined build but that's just me! It'd still be some machine one way or the other.

Found it: http://www.mr2mk1club.com/V6MR2.html Great site, he makes it look easy though.

The guy who did this swap Brad Beddell used the yellow MR2 pictured with the Camry V6 to win Sport Compact Car's Ultimate Street Car Challenge...so it's for sure a solid swap.

After years (yes really) of searching I found this website in New Zealand, they offer adaptor plates for a 12A to either a Mazda 323 FWD box or a Toyota Corona late FWD box.

I think the 13B & Renesis both have the same bolt pattern as the 12A (correct me if I'm wrong!) so I'm sure you could fit one of the later engines. I'd go for the Renesis, plenty of power & better fuel consumption.

Give them a shout.
