I was wondering if anyone has done the swap into the RWD version?I was thinking with thier light wieght they would make a prime candidate for a 13b swap(13b-re if I had the money).Has this been done before. From what I've read about them the bolt pattern on them is the same 4x110 pattern as the non-SE has.Just curious.

Thanx

There's a guy with a GLC with a 13BT, big turbo, with plans for running alcohol. I believe that he used the rear suspension from a GSL SE, but I haven't seen him in quite a while.

I would love to drive a ugly looking beater that goes that good.https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png Just imagine the looks on people faces when you're passing them.

Jeff20B 10-01-2002 07:32 AM

It doesn't run yet. It just needs the rad to be installed and a bit of other finishing work, but that's it.

By the way, what do you mean by HB? It's not a Cosmo. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

I have done quite a few of those swaps myself. I had an '80 with a 12a. I'm currently looking for one so I can do a turbo.

P.S. I have pics but I'll to scan them since I don't have them on cd

spiceisler 10-03-2002 07:20 AM

It was a '80 GLC Hatchback with a 12a, '79 Box, GSL rear with disc brakes, 85 Rx7 front springs from Racing Beat, RB header, Remus exhaust, 15" Rims with Yokahama 205/50-15R AVS, Custom two-tone paint.

niz_o 10-31-2002 06:28 PM

what about dropping a 13B into an 1986 323?? Has anyone heard of anyone who has done this before?? I'm planning on doing it myself once I rebuild the 13B.

spiceisler 11-12-2002 03:40 PM

Isn't the '86 323 FWD? or are you talking about the wagon? I've seen a FWD wagon with a 13B swap on this site

DriftedFC3S 11-20-2002 03:37 PM

my mechanic has one with a 12a in it...i think it runs a 12 something w/o nitrous and an 11 something with the nitrous...

rudriver510 11-25-2002 09:13 AM

There is a guy in joplin that has a primered glc by the way it sounded it was a swap, but when i called some yards to get a body i was told all (glc's)

were fwd so i didnt know if the rx 7 would be a bolt in or what so i got to thinkin what would be the worst car to get beat by 1. Pinto- did that already 2.3 with wbers and the juice 2. CHEVETTE and that is what im doin!

its already rwd and everyone agrees in this town (aurora, mo. pop. 5000 beer swilling toothless camaro drivin rednecks) that they cant be fast!!!!

heheheh poor bastards they just dont know do they!

Racer X 11-26-2002 02:15 AM

They were made RWD from 1978 (round headlamps) to 1980 (square headlamps) in hatchback form. Up to 1983 Station Wagon RWD only.

i was gonna have to put the rotary in a chevette if i didnt get that info!

any idea what the glc weighs

the chevette is 1900+ so i wanna stay round that!

thanks.

Racer X 12-03-2002 12:12 AM

I'm fairly sure they are lighter than a shitbox chevette. Why put it in a domestic?Just stuff a 454 in it and call it a day. :bigthumg:

well the whole reason i wanted to do it is that it is already rwd! thats it

anyway i helped some dudes round here with the camaros and then got told i wasnt smart enuff to make a chevette fast without a v-8 so....

there ya have it i have found some decnt chevette bodies round here but so far have only found a couple o glc's and they are wastedbut...... now that i know they are rwd then ill wait til i find a good or decent one!

OK finally! I couldn't find a scanner so I took shots of the actual pics so the quality is not so great. I also couldn't find a web host for them so I'm gonna include a link here. I tried photoisland.com and after delting all my albums there, I still didn't have enough room....go figure.
