Ok...need some help. I have a 12A in a bug and have a cooling issue. Had a 160deg thermostat and 50/50 coolant with waterwetter. Running a stock radiator out of an 82 rx7 and 16" fan. after driving for 20 min or so, it gets to 200-210f. I removed the stat and plugged the hole and it still doing it. Any ideas? rad too small? fan too small? I do have a bigger rad out of a 2 or 3 gen, help maybe? im open to any ideas!!! woild like to enjoy my ride but temps have me a little concerned. btw..car is on http://home.sw.rr.com/bugnut01/beetle.htm

Hey man, had a quick look at the pics of your car and the first thing I noticed is "how on earth are you getting air into your radiator and the hot air out???????????"

Put the thermostat back in. and sort out some ducting or something so it can breathe.

this will probably solve 90% of your cooling issues.

There is a wide slot cut at the bottom and an air dam to scoop up air to the radiator. I have ducting to get the hot air to go under the car after it goes thru the radiator. At times with fan running you can actually feel the air draw through the slot. I replaced the water pump with a new one and about to replace the 2 row rad with a 3 row., and putting the 160 therm back in....maybe this will work...
