I've been doing a lot of reading the past few days and figured I would post and ask for other people's opinions on this. What I want to do is a 13BT swap into either a B2200 or B2600i 4x4. My goal is to make a fun street car and weekend toy that will put out good power and turn some heads doing so. What do you feel would be the better choice in doing the swap? Power wise I'm shooting for ~300whp with room to grow latter down the road. From what I can tell, the hard part of each swap is not so much fitting the 13BT, but more the plumbing and engine management. To make matters worse, both a 1990 B2200 and B2600i 4x4 can be had locally for a really good price and are both in ecellant condition.

For 300 whp I would just do it to a 2wd B2200.Its alot easier to do and that way your not having all that weight of the transfer case and front diff.Plus after driving my rotary B2200 they are a fun little truck to drive. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.gif

4x4 has a different frame and suspension on making it heavier and harder to modify, the regular B2200 has lots more upgrades for lowering and such due to it being a popular mini truck. the tranny on those trucks is basic mazda, the belhousing from the N/A should fit the stock b2200 tranny and then you just make engine mounts. the B2600i tranny is like a T2 tranny, and that corresponding bellhousing would mate it to the 13b as well.. you could get the b2200 and then source a b2600i or t2 tranny /w shifter modded. I guess it all depends on parts availability in your area. B2600i has sexier flares on the fenders making it look way better. and it has a hump on the hood which also looks sexy!

I sell the engine mounts. The stock transmission mount can be used as long as you use the truck tailhousing. This also keeps the shifter in the stock location.
