First off, I'm sorry to post but I've been to a ton of forums and used the search feature all over the place trying to find someone who has done this swap and have effectively run in to several dead ends. I've seen several pictures and even a video of a white 13bt powered ae86 but no info on the difficulty of the swap. Let's just say the Toyota sites that I frequent are less than thrilled with the prospect of a 13bt s5 powered ae86 and have only suggested SR20dets and CA18dets. I'm ASE master certified and I don't have to many problems fabbing up custom parts cause that is what I do for work. I'm trying to see what is a better swap an sr or a 13b

Here's what i want to know and maybe some one on this forum can help.

Can I use the stock mounts on the 13bt and build something custom off of the AE86 Crossmember?

Am I going to have to cut the firewall or hammer it back?

Do you have to relocate the Toyota manual steering rack and pinion or steering column to clear the rotor housings?

How far off is the shifter hole?

I know all about a custom drive shafts and wiring and making custom mounts. so no need to tell me about that.

Particularly I would like to see some pics of how some one has mounted a 13bt. I only need turbo pics. I don't really need to see the carbed 12a ae86 that is on every forum.

Thank you all for your help.

Cheers,

Allen

i've been looking into the same swap. i'll tell you everything i have heard, but not sure if it's true. 1st is the engine mounts on the 13b are more forward on the engine and the pic that i saw, they made an adapter that connects to the frame in front of the crossmember. the tans is longer than most and you will have no problem with that. i can try and find some, i know someone that has an 13b 86.
