most of the cj5's and 7's that i've seen are running a boss 302 mustang motor around here, and i was wondering if anyone has ever seen a conversion with a 3 rotor and mostlikely either a single turbo or a bit roots supercharger to make the extra power and torque that it would nee to be strong off and on the road...

ive never seen it,but ive heard of it,some guy with a cj7 was apparently running a 20b from what ive heard,i dont know how he got that in there or how it worked out,but i figured it was made up crap so i paid no attention to it

302 mustang engines? that's the oddest swap i heard of and i was a hardcore jeep guy lol, the most common is the chevy 350 swap, it's cheap in 99% of the shops too cause it is rather simple there are premade harnesses for it all over the place, and hey it's a 350 they aint hard to find.
actually now you mention it i do recall some 302's, not many though, oh well. never seen a rotary jeep though, gives me something to do a search for though https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png kevin. |
I doubt you would see one with a rotory conversion still running the 4 wheel
drive or taking it off road with a rotory, no low end torque or power which is what you need for off road. |
maybe it'll use a 39B 6 rotor https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png that'd be the shizznizzle

a supercharged 20B would have more low-end power than you'd ever need offroad

yeah i was just wondering if you guys had seen one because i think it would be fun to do, and it would beat the last thing that i wanted to try with an old jeep... i wanted to build one for drag racing just for shits and giggles. I think at the time i was really into the late supra motors because they're a pretty strong powerplant for the sports cars that come out of japan, but in my opinion rotary is still my fav. the most offroad this would see is running around on the beach with my cousin's 69 blazer and that's about it...

Even supercharged, you wouldn't have the torque of any 6 or 8 banger.
