I have a 1969 bmw 2002 that I am restoring. I wat to swap out the old m10 bmw engine for a 13b twin turbo. I cant seen to find any pictures of bmw rotary swaps anywhere. Has this been done with a 13b twin turbo? Any info I can get would be great! I think it's possible but I just have to figure out if the transmission will all fit and figure out the driveshaft situation.

This is my second 2002. I had a 1976 but I hated the big bumpers, so I got the 1969. Ive always like the body style. I know this rotary will make it a lot of fun!!! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683473.gif

Sounds like a fun project. Post up pics as you make progress. I"m very interested to see how it all runs out.

I don't know if I've seen much on swaps into bimmers, but I don't see why you couldn't, if you can swap LS1's into them then you can probably swap a rotary into them. Have you thought about swapping the new bmw 335 twin turbo into instead, that could be fun and you'll still get two turbos https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.gif

Might sound wierd, but try some of the bmw forums too, there seems to be a lot of rotary owners on them.

why not a T2 or 13BRE? its prolly cheaper and simpler.

I did a 1969 BMW 2002 several years ago w/a stock TII set-up. It's was a blast when it was tuned in but the issue that drove me to give it up was the driveshaft https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/angry.gif . The '02 has a 2-pc shaft 'cause of the "angle" needed to connect w/the diff. I kept blowing the flex bearing, which connects the halves. A 1-pc shaft will only work w/MAJOR mods to the rear subframe and surrounding sheetmetal. That is not to say that other approaches won't work.

I wish you the best and HAVE A BLAST https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...O_DIR#>/v2.gif !!!
