i would just supercharge the corolla. i was a toyota man before. 4agze thats the way to go with those cars.

Turbo II 12-07-2002 01:07 PM

i have seen a video from japan with a 20b in one

13b is setup for RWD, that car is FWD. My buddy had one it was a fun car.

it souldnt be too hard, the engine mounts on the 13b are very simple. im still not impressed with the 4ag, they just wont make any power

no power from a 4ag wrong but its way more expensive then tha rot.

anyway the sr5 and gts corolla is rwd til 88 so there it is just get the welder and then go to work!

good luck its a less popular swap than the rot in the 79-82 but itll work!

my brother built a 13b sr corolla coupe dont no much about it but he did have to build a exhust tunnel and i think he had to mod the g'box tunnel and had high flow turbo and micro tech ecu i think it pulled a 12 at the drags on a crappy track i think it was pritty nuts on skinny tyres https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/BURNOUT.gif

Turbo II 12-09-2002 02:57 PM

yeah the pre 88's are rwd after that toyota started making em fwd

The 79-82's are better for wieght reasons but I say have fun with it.It should still fly. :bigthumg:

an old friend of mines had one with a 12A. it was a fun car to drive. another friend is contemplating the idea also. if your good at welding/making things you should have no problem. it cant be any harder than the project going on at my house.

Buddy and I did one with TII motor. One thing though vibrates like crazy in third gear. I think the angle of the drive train is not constant so therefore we have to come up with a way of dropping the motor a little more either by making a custom oil pan or by custom front crossmember. The car has been parked since late spring 2002 and I think he wants to sell it. It's a '86 SR5 with Ground control coilovers in the front, mustang 5.0 rear,TRD rear springs, Addco F/R swaybars and custom ladder bars. The car is very clean. I'll post some pics as soon the weather improves and I can get over there to take them.

Man thats a Ford Anglia. I haven't seen one of those in quite a number of years. That's very rare and in that condition. WOW!!! You might find one in the Carribean (one of the islands) or PR. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683894.gif

Yeah, I'm in Brooklyn. You know I don't miss Pan-American in Atco or the events at Englishtown. Basically the shows are in the summer months with the english cars but as soon as something comes up I'll let you know and hopefully see you there.

Booostin GSL-SE 12-31-2002 02:36 AM

I dont know any sites.....but I have seen one in person. Before I seen the motor, he tried to race me on 8th street and 107ave lol. he thought he was big and bad with a streetported 12a in his 86 sr5. I have to admit his car sounds very nice and moves nice. He told me he had a streetported 12a, headers, msd 6a, etc...I told him mine has some headers and a good clutch lol. Light turns green and I spike to 14lbs https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...R#>/violin.gif in my Gsl-se lol that was a good moment.

For what it's worth, I had a MR2 in my earlier days (4AG) and the power is very linaer, but very lacking of torque. I compare that motor to a sewing machine, very smooth right up to it's 7500 RPM Redline. (I think it could have done 10,000 RPM if it didn't have that Damn Revlimiter) but definately could have used some boost.
