Car came in with an oil leak, a friend of mine had already replaced the rear main seal, so we had a hunch there was a bigger problem. The rear main was definitely not leaking, it appeared to be coming through the key way and then through the threads on the flywheel nut. Upon closer inspection I found the flywheel had been wearing against the rear main bearing. The rear main bearing was also trashed, but only one half of it. I couldn't even put this stationary gear/bearing back into the motor, checked on a spare shaft and it wouldn't slide on either. I didn't check endplay, or tear the rest of the motor down. Hes going to try and get a warranty from the shop, its only got 3k on it. I figured it was an endplay problem, then then led to the oil leak which probably ruined the bearing. Appears someone used a chisel to replaced the pilot bearing, so pretty sloppy. Sad thing is I have another vehicle here with similar engine damage from the same company. Anyways a few people wanted to see the pictures, just though I would share with everyone else.
