So I'm looking at my rotor housings and I cant see why swapping the front and rear houings around would make any difference for emmissions. Both sides of the rotor housing air passages are connected, so wouldnt the port air make it to the exhaust ports/exhaust manifold regardless?

they're the same...

Look at the exhaust ports. You will notice that the egr port (hole beside port) goes one way on the front and one way on the back. The hole lines up with hole on the manifold.

They are not the same.

its actually the air pump air passage. some years they drilled it both ways, and then the rotor housings are the same pn# front and rear, but everything 86+ they dont so its front and rear. you can drill the passage yourself, its not too bad. or if it never ever ever needs to pass smog* you can swap em

* the rx8 doesnt use port air, its injected into the exhaust manifold.

Ahh yes your right, the hole doesnt go all the way through. I think I am going to drill it myself because the housings are allready cut for their bridge ports from last time. This may be the reason I had to rig up a corvette air pump dumping air directly after the exhaust manifold hidden under the car to pass emmisions,.. hmm.

Thanks guys.
