Just out of curiousity i was wondering what exactly went wrong when i blew the engine in my fd. As i stripped the motor down to the shortblock i was able to learn more about the engine and got the idea to look at the seals. Well, spinning the engine all the seals on the rear rotor are fine but as i spun the motor i noticed something different with the front.

it looks like the seals are furthur out of the rotor and im able to push the seals in the rotor a little bit by hand what could possibly be the problem? them cracking or maybe something else? I was just a little curious

i'm not sure what you're asking ...

it seems that all seals are in tact from what you're saying, but you're also saying that you have a blown motor? i know it's possible to flatline a motor without breaking seals, but have you done a compression check?

You might have blown a side seal.

the apex seals are still on the rotor but they are sticking out and i can push them into the rotor where the belong respectively.

if u push the seals in and it springs back out, its meant to be like that, the spring forces the seal against the wall of the rotor housing to seal in compression

What you're describing is normal.

Tear the whole thing down to see what failed.

The seals could have a crack in a location that you can't see through the exhaust port. You need to break it down and check everything. Also did you see any scratches on the housing surface? You can see this by shinning a light down the exhaust port and feeling with your finger.
