From what I understand, there is a growing list of formerly reputable rotary rebuilders that have suddenly become dishonest or publicly denounced. Are we down to having to build our own motors? What reliable engine builders are left that offer products on a regional or national level?

banzaitoyota 03-30-2005 11:10 AM

Well, Pineapple is at least standing behind what he sold me. But I have lost faith after 2 bad experiences.

Stan at SDJ Motorsports builds a nice engine, but is real picky about components.

Daryl Drummond builds good stuff.

Yeah right, I wouldn't let him build me a motor if I was to use it as a pedestal for a coffee table.

Baldy 03-30-2005 01:04 PM

Does BDC build motors, or just primarily porting?

mazdaspeed7 03-30-2005 02:03 PM

I still do...

astrochild7 03-30-2005 04:59 PM

Fluid dynamics? if your talking about the per on the forum, your seriously mistaken... if you only new... actually there are a couple of use up here in the NW that are fully capable. everyone has to start somwhere thou..

rfreeman27 03-30-2005 08:42 PM

Demetrous (reactive racing) is pretty damn good, but he doesent really take much work anymore.

Ive been hearing that gotham's motors are not too great, and that there have been a few people that have had to take them back to be made 'right.'

this could be hogwash but you never know.

Ive started to build my own (with dee's assistance) and dont plan on letting anybody else do them for me. I mean its not exactly hard to do..

turbovr6 03-30-2005 09:53 PM

I would say dee or ito, from what I know. ****, I ******* overboosted my ito motor to 21-22psi today.

vosko 03-31-2005 12:19 AM

i know a reputable one but i don't want all you bastards bothering him.........!

My engine builder(Luis) is reputable. My engine of 4K miles has been smoking for the last few thousand miles. We are pretty sure its an oil control ring. We are going to disassemble it next weekend. No cost to me for labor or parts. All I had to do was remove the engine from my car. Did that this past weekend and installed a spare used engine I had.

Judge Ito 03-31-2005 07:46 PM

I would love to help. but until I move I will not be taking in engine work.

Comitatus 03-31-2005 10:12 PM

whoops sorry on last post. I was wondering how much BDC rebuilds are and if you street port and how much that would cost. Also how do you handle your shipping and where are you located. Your website is under construction so I wasnt able to get much info.
