I'm interested in AI for fuel economy benefits (I'm also running it on the TII, but for different reasons https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub... ). Anyone have some good research that gives some specific info?

I found this article with a quick google: http://www.eskimo.com/~nanook/future/2007/...el-economy.html

the problem with that is that the rotary isnt knock limited at idle and low speeds like that.

although volvo has a system to run egr on boost, the exhaust gasses are inert* and just take up space that otherwise would be filled with fuel/schmegma, so the net result is that they can run 14:7afr under boost, and get better mileage

* exhaust gas is inert, in that it doesnt burn, but its also HOT, and thus not good in a rotisserie engine

so water would be a better choice...

I'm more interested in the use of water injection in n/a engines and the viability of advancing the timing and leaning the mixture in order to increase fuel economy. Not necessarily rotary-engine specific, either.

well the water does let you do both, i'm pretty sure all the tests ive seen were under full throttle.

water would work great in a high compression engine, like a mazdaspeed 3/6
