ok my friend has in his garage a turbo and a non-turbo rx7 second gen. the turbo has a blown engine. the n/a was rebuilt and street ported, runs good and hard. yet the n/a needs work such as body is smashed up dents paint interior is in need of some work, nothen that cant be fixed or replaced. were thinken since the turbo is in almost perfect condition,,maybe throw the turbo onto the n/a and drop it in,,since we alread have turbo clutch,,harnes,,ecu and everything else,???would this work or would it be easier to just rebuild the turbo engine and part out the n/a??? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683561.gif ????????? what would u guys do?

If the turbo II's a S5 and black, I say let me have it. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683827.gif https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png really, I say just go with the turbo II. Since you said the exterior's in good condition compared to the n/a just put a new engine in the TII and you'll be ready to go.

yea the thing is we have both its just that i wanna get the na turbo'd and into the gtu body,,,na mean?
|
oh and its an s4 red,,,sorry
|
na=naturally asspirated
Well since the GTU already has a engine in there.. just put a 13B turbo in the TII body, if the body is in good shape and everything. So, get the TII! Red's still cool. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif |
u dont understand,,,i have an n/a rx7 and i also have a turbo rx7,,,i have both sitting in my backyard,,,the thing is the engine in the gtu needs a rebuild and the engine in the n/a has just been rebuilt and street ported by mazda trix,,,its a good engine and i would like to turbo it,,,,so i was thinking about takeing both engines out and swapen the n/a engine into the gtu body and mounting the turbo from the turbo engine onto the n/a,,,,but my question is would it be easier to just rebuild the turbo engine???,,,if its not to hard i would rather use the n/a ported engine cause its ported and just rebuilt,,,????????????? tell me if u have any questions https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/wacko.png

rebuild the turbo motor........or just give it to me lol
The turbo motor, from what I understand is quite different from the NA motor. Turbocharging a NA motor is asking for trouble, the driveline cant take it also. |
wassup nick,,,yea thats what ive heard aswell,,,,i guess maybe ill just rebuild the turbo engine and part out the n/a
|
saw a diff housing turned into a vosko-spec part on an NA that was turbo'd

I know quite a few people that run 6ports, turbo charged with the 13bt turbo. They havent experienced any problems. I asked becuz i also had the same question about the driveline stress. One told me a friend of his had problems with an upgraded turbo... But all of theres has been running well, thats all i know

there is pretty much no diffrence between the turbo and NA motors other then the turbo has lower compression rotors and has 4 ports instead of 6 like the NA

a gtu doesn't have turbo's stock so you have a turbo2 and an n/a or non turbo...whichever one you prefer.. anyway you said the engine in the t2 (the one with the turbo engine) is blown? what do you mean? because if you lost a seal or debris was moved chances are your turbo got raped too. what i say you do, is sell the non-turbo car and use the money to rebuild the turbo2's engine. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683329.gif
