I had this done but I wanted to know how much it is when other companies do this?

Its bored out . They made new butterflys to match and took the secondary OE butterfly and used it in the primary.

The screw are replaced with low profie heads and there is nothing left to interupt air flow. even the shaft was modified.

1Revvin7 06-22-2004 03:56 PM

How much larger are the butterflies?

l8t apex 06-22-2004 04:21 PM

1st is stock primary, 2nd is the other stock 2ry and the new secondaries are increased in size of the difference as the the primary OE is To the secondary OE.

The bottom butterfly is the other 2ndary and then you can see the top too increased. I think 30% more. Its as large as he thought possible with out running into the throttle side open that would cuase problems.

uuuummm I guess this helps?

Looks nice and I am sure you will notice a difference from midrange on up.

NICE!

FikseRxSeven 06-22-2004 06:30 PM

rotaryextreme is looking into doin this too.... but the price is pretty steep

l8t apex 06-22-2004 09:10 PM

This was done by Mark Oswald 6 time NHRA champion yesterday. He drove the Candies & Hughes funny car . He may do more since he wrote the auto cad program for me. What would be an offer on price per each that I could entertain him with?

This was a trade and favor for me sooo I paid for materials and stuff. If you guys are reasonable he could do more. It would be with your actual intake.

Let me know, maybe a GB.

Really cool!

89 Rag 06-22-2004 09:48 PM

It was around 400 for the rotary extreme unit, Greddy asks like 600-650. For any of these prices I would sure as hell like to see a dyno sheet to compare stock to modded.

I'd also be interested to see the bored unit w/ larger butterflies vs. a standard ported TB w/ the TB mods done to it.

ryosuke_fc 06-22-2004 11:04 PM

That is, for an FC of course.

1Revvin7 06-23-2004 01:37 AM

I can't see it being worth that much money in terms of power increase. A dyno comparison would be nice. Tb looks good though.

l8t apex 06-23-2004 08:37 AM

OK spoke with M.Oswald this morning.Check GB for info and specs.

l8t apex 06-23-2004 08:50 AM

I cant do GB............Sorry.

OK spoke with M.Oswald this morning ,for info and specs.

Primary is .100 larger.Secondary is .095 (close to .100) larger. The shafts are machined to except the custom made larger butteflys and then he used button head screws and there is no screw shaft into air flow.My stock Buttfly were never wide open(FYI)

Using your FD T.B. and you pay and insure your own shipping bothways you can get this work for $325.00

Should he get decent interest I will set him up with Paypal. He said give him 3 days to get each completed. ( Unless he is at a race but he can inform us)

Hey I guess thats beats $ 500 -600.00 !

This is a GB or indvidual price.

1Revvin7 06-23-2004 01:11 PM

I should go measure my 20B throttle body.

setzep 06-27-2004 07:14 PM

Are you going to set it up so all 3 blades open at once right off the bat or make it more progressive?

standerd transition. I don't know how the system would act (fuel curves) and what mods to the linkage would have to be done. I think you would want some velocity for around town driving over a large transition and volume.

But what can you tell me ? This is the place for sound boarding.

setzep 06-29-2004 07:00 PM

I think I worded it wrong. What I mean is will they all open at once or will the primary open for the first 15-20% throttle movement then the other two after that.

I have my ported cosmo TB set up so only the primary blade opens till 15% throttle movement, after that the 2 secondary blades start to open. I like it much better this way over all 3 opening at the same time. Around town it's much more drivable. It also doesn't take as much fuel cruising down the road.

How does the stock FD TB operate?

1Revvin7 06-29-2004 07:39 PM

Could you ask for or measure the plates for us?

Well I have to be honest......that concept or application has never come to me so I cant answer intelligently. right now its set up with stock setting ......actually I need to reset everything . Sorry. i 'll post up when I get there.

Ok while the TB is now at the shop i cant measure them but...take the numbers I posted before and add them to these if they are correct. I used my dial caliper on the stock one not used.

But I also ported evrything i thought would help.

never mind the ****** caliper is broken.

I will get it posted.
