Thinking of porting. Need some help please

So I finally went out and did it. I bought my dream 3rd gen rx7. Beautiful car until I got home. I went out of Canada to buy it and drive it back. Once I got it back home I started to process of getting plated. First problem is it failed the emmisions test . No biggie right, wrong!!! Brought it to Dave at Mazdees and find out it need to have the engine rebuilt. Basiclly it is burning coolant internally because the o-ring is gone, or on its way out.
So now that its being rebuilt I figured why not get it ported, but I was told I would have to add a few other things to the set up if I wanted it ported. I always thought if you did a mild port you wouldn`t have to add anything but I guess i`m wrong.
Any feedback on how I should go about rebuilding this engine at not to crazy a cost would be appreciated.
Thanks

nah mild port should still be fine while the engine is in bits u might aswell replace most of the seals anyway, depending.

Mild port shouldn't have to add anything other than adjust the timing (depends on what you want to do as well...), unless they are planning to do something else which they did not tell you about.

Here is a webpage that gives general idea of what each of the porting would provide: Porting
