Took my old s4 engine apart. It met doom when the front rotor mail bearing failed and the rotor hit the rotor housing.
Man do you need sensitive hands to take out the seals. I pulled on the rotor out and the apex and spring just pop out on to the floor. I guess i can't save my apex seals now. You can feel groves in all the housing. Even the undamaged housing has groves. http://mywebpages.comcast.net/turbor...e/DSC00001.JPG http://mywebpages.comcast.net/turbor...e/DSC00002.JPG RACING BEAT LIGHT WEIGHT STEEL FLYWHEEL WITH COUNTER WEIGHT FOR 87-88 RX7 ONLY FOR SALE. JUST SURFACE RUST. http://mywebpages.comcast.net/turbor...e/DSC00003.JPG This is my rear rotor, this one didn't break. Is it me or are the oil control rings missing??? http://mywebpages.comcast.net/turbor...e/DSC00004.JPG http://mywebpages.comcast.net/turbor...e/DSC00005.JPG http://mywebpages.comcast.net/turbor...e/DSC00006.JPG http://mywebpages.comcast.net/turbor...e/DSC00007.JPG Front rotor bearing failure, bearing fell out of rotor as soon as i pull out the rotor. Look at the damage. http://mywebpages.comcast.net/turbor...e/DSC00008.JPG More damage from the failed bearing. http://mywebpages.comcast.net/turbor...e/DSC00009.JPG Front rotor housing? I think this one is bad, don't you think?? I think that's where the rotor edge hit. http://mywebpages.comcast.net/turbor...e/DSC00010.JPG |
Bearing that failed and fell out of the rotor.

I dunno, the rotor housings didn't seem that messed up. Put it back together and turn up the boost. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif
