Stock Build Questions
 

Several years ago this forum provided some invaluable advice when I was re-building my first rotary engine. Turns out the engine was a success and still runs today.

But now I am starting to plan a new engine build. I would like to replace my half bridge port 13b-REW with a stock engine. Going to change back my current non-sequentials to simplified sequential twins. It's time for me to enjoy this car, do some touring, and gain some drive-ability. I have been collecting parts and hope to be ready to start later this year.

My goal is to put a car together that starts easily, is reliable, is reasonably quiet, is very driveable, and has some semblance of fuel economy. I would like to utilize some of the bolt on adders already on the car - downpipe, hi-flow cat, RB dual tip catback, PFC, emissions blocked off, upgraded fuel pump, 1300cc secondaries, water injection, and a front mounted intercooler.

So one of my first questions involves the intake and exhaust ports. I want to use just the stock intake ports but my question is - is there any benefit to polishing the intake runners or matching them to the manifold or just leave them as is? I understand that velocity and torque are related somehow and I don't want to lose torque. What about the exhaust? I don't want to change the port timing but is there anything else that should be done?

Don't polish the inlet ports ,u can clean them up but leave them rough finish with grinding stone ,This helps the fuel to atomize better .enlarging the ports a little will benefit flow but not loose low down torque and will gain hp and fuel economy . Also go back to standard injectors and you will be fine

I also have a question is there anything i can use to subsitute for the water jacket o rings around the rotor housings

Not realy Use the mazda seals they work fine
