Here is another set of Irons I have that I can use if I dont think these TII flow well enough. Please correct me if I'm wrong on the TII Irons flow.

The porting looks rough in that first pic. Take a 1/2" sanding drum and smooth it out.



On those front/rear irons...your low end is going to suck. Youre going to lose power until very high in the rpm band. You went extremely far into the compression stroke, and your torque curve will suffer greatly.

Why do you think its too far into the compression stroke? The stock N/A 6ports look like they are farther up than that. The volume for sure looks bigger on the 6port engine (even stock). The whole port itself is only 3/8th" higher, and more than half of that is beveled severly. The S5TII intermediate housings have a very mild SP on them. Do you still think the tq is going to be terrible? Thanks man.

Go set a rotor on that housing. The chamber is at BDC whel the bottom apex of the rotor is vertical from the center of the ecc shaft. Anything beyond that is into the compression stroke. The stock 6 ports go into the compression stroke a good bit.



Its a double edged sword, but this is one of the things that makes a rotary such a high revving motor, and such a high specific output.

Are you talking bout the four port motor or the siamesed 6-port one Madzdaspeed7? The Turbo motor looks fine to me..

I was talking about the siamesed 6 port.

Yeah the saimesed one was out of my old motor. It had horible low end but was a beast up top. The one im going to accually use is the TII one. Do you guys think i should port it some more? If so what direction.



I cant figure out what each way you can port does. I know the basics like toward the water seal opens it earlier, and to the center closes it later, but what about going up on the corner seal side? Having the top square vs ramping to one side or the other? Another thing I was wondering was if these TII housings are going to flow very well, they dont look like they flow much more than a stock N/A six port, is that right?

yeah, out is earlier, but you can only go like 2-3 mm before you drop the leading edge of the side seal. Porting up is later timming (i guess it could be in if you went really far up) porting in in the main part of the port violates the oil seal and doesnt add any timming, only volume. Port closing style should be chosen based on how far out you have ported. If stock (and your particular stock port doesnt drop the trailing edge of the side seal) you can get away with an abrupt port closing (trace the rotor where you want it to close). If you have ported out enoguh to drop the trailing edge (or your particular stock port drops it stock) you need to use a scissors type closing (as shown by Lynn in this thread https://www.nopistons.com/forums/ind...howtopic=39549 ) Just as a note on an s5 NA 13b motor the primary and secondary drop the trailing edge, where as the aux port does not, which is why primary and secondary have scissor closings stock and the aux doesnt. If you port our even more and drop the leading edge you need to bevel and pulish the top edge of the port (as outlined by judge ito in this thread:https://www.nopistons.com/forums/ind...howtopic=33859) Porting down has no effect on timming as long as you stay in thie lines so to speak.
