Does anyone make a 2mm solid corner seal. I would assume the solid seal will wear out the side housings faster, but how much faster. And what about running the stock corner seal without the rubber piece, how reliable is it. I bought a car with a motor that was built without the rubber piece and it wasnt very smooth when the car was cold. But ran fine when it was warmed up.

u can get the solid pieces at www.atkinsrotary.com

peole have ran the stock corner piece without teh insert, i dont you might as well get the solid one and the solid pieces take detonation a little better, the stock corner tend to crack with detonation, doubt it will go before the apex seal though

The solid seal, with more surface area than the stock seal will have a lower unit pressure than the stock seal, and should wear less, rather than more than the stock seal. The other advantage is that they are stronger than the stock seals.

I just thought since the solid corner seal has more surface area, it will wear out the side housing more. Just like some say the 3mm apex seal wears out the rotor housing faster than the 2mm seal.

What's the advantage of a rubber insert?

The soild 2mm corner seals will wear faster than the stock. Due to the combustion the naturally goes though there when the end is running. That pushes the corner seal out of the rotor toward the sides housing. The rubber part to help seal when cold, not letting as much by. At least this is what Chris and Igy try to explain to me, when there soild corner seals ate up the plates faster the expected. I can't remember what brand they where though https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683561.gif
