Just wondering if anyone has tried doubling up the side seal springs as suggested by racing beat for forced induction motors?

They say it creates more internal drag but reduces blowby considerably, I know there is two different styles of springs to use, but anything that makes a tighter motor I think should be considered, the question is , is how well does it work? Maxt

I tried this multiple times, there is a lot of mix results in this thing...

depends on your porting, with dual side seal springs, sometimes the spring tension will push the side seal out, bowing it just enough they get chipped or craxked when they passes the port. (if it is a very wild port) happend to me 2 times.

due to the higher tension you cannot torque the engine down as high as you really needed (higher then stock spec usually)

the extra wear on the side housing, which they usually have a much longer life, and by doing this will make them grooved very easily.

the side seals wears very fast, so unless you plan to rebuild this very often, you don't want to try... and its not worth it for a street engine. On the other hand, in racing application: more power the better https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/cool.png
