I was reading the FAQ on the e-shaft oil mod and I would like to do a variation of it with my new motor. Basically I would like to increase my oil pressure using an FD rear regulator, but I will have to shim my front regulator and I don't know how many and what size washers I will need. Can somebody please give me the specs for shimming the front pressure regulator for 110 psi? Thanks. BTW I have a 90 TII and will be running the 13BT it comes with with an aggressive street port.

According to MazdaMotorsports a 1/8" shim is all that is required. Here is the text from their description of their "Competition Oil Pressure Regulator"

With the use of a high capacity oil pump, the competition regulator allows oil pressure in the system to reach 105-115 psi. It is also recommended to shim the from pressure regulator 1/8' to ensure it does not limit system pressure.

Hey thanks. Do you know if they used m5 washers or not to do this?

I would suspect M5 flat washers, yes.

Read the FSM. The front regulator doesnt bypass until 156 PSI.

So then what you're telling me is that I don't hve to shim my front regulator? The reason I ask is becuase I think it said in the FAQ that you had to so that it wouldn't bypass to early.

Coincidently, this Is what I am going through right now. With a recently purchased RB Street Pressure Regulator, I called RB to ask bout the shimming of the Front Control Pressure Regulator just 2hrs ago. They said, with the addition of the RB Pressure Regulator, their Is no need to shim the front one. Good enough for me.

hey i have heard that if you beat the face of the oil pressure regulator on the front housing flat it will be the same as a jdm one and gets you crazy oil pressure any one else heard of this?

No, but I don't suggest doing it. The reason is because all you are doing is restricting it by mauling the end and what happens if you braek it off?
