Saw in another thread / post by scathcart that word in the street is not to use them unless you use the rx8 eshaft? is this confirmed. Hoenstly I had just found out about using the stat gears from a 8 in another motor. I saw it when I was surfing mazdatrix.

Bad? Good? Wait and see what others do?

Thanks, I read that thread as well. but there is no rx8 eshaft part number. Nor does it talk about using the rx8 eshaft in turbo applications.

An eccentric shaft is an eccentric shaft, unless your talking about a GURU eshaft but that's another thing, there is no advantage to using a RX8 eshaft it's the same. The only difference is the rear stationary gear "4. The oil feed hole in the rear gear is 1/4 of a hole out. If you look down the gallery from the oil filter you'll see what I mean. A die grinder soon fixes this, the hole must be ovaled 2mm towards the rear of the gear. The oil passage in the front gear lines up." Talked to Mazdatrix about using the RX8 stationary gears with different year eccentric shafts and they said it was not an issue. If you have anymore questions call Mazdatrix and talk to Henry. He can answer any of your questions.

I'm glad you took all the effort in replying. But I'm still curious on Mike's original reply on "it's cheap". If it's cheap enough than it may be worth it to replace one that is at it's limits of tolerance.

Unfortunately I don't know Henry as well as you do, I surf the forums to learn about tips and tricks other have tried just like everyone else here. The last thing I need from you is you regurgitating someone else's post.

I have ordered an RX8 crank from Mazda so I can compare it to any of the earlier cranks. I'll let you know within a week.
