I need to use a new front rotor in my latest build. I have two to choose from - each has possible issues.



The first one had a corner of an apex groove that got bent in while being handled in my garage. the corner seal would not move freely due to this. I tried to correct the problem with a hammer and drift - not completely successfully. The corner seal moves fine now, but the corner looks, umm... [attachment=45635:bearing_scratch.jpg]less than pristine. see pic.



The other one is all fine, but there's a scratch on the bearing - not nearly big enough to catch your finger nail, but I don't know how critical something like this is. I also included a picture of some witness marks left behind by my bore gauge. Once again. not sure if these are an issue - i assume I can polish these out?



Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks, guys. That was definitely what I was thinking too, but I am just generally scared to mess with bearings - I just don't know much about what matters and what's ok as far as scuffs, scratches and imperfections. I've heard lots of stories of people losing brand new motors because of bearing failures.



Anyway, can I just polish the area with an emery cloth in the area affected, or do I need to go over the whole surface?
