what do you think makes more power and/or reliability. porting the rotors (similar to the RX8 rotors)...or traditional style porting of the housings? of course both would be best. but lets try and stick to either or....





ps...im going 20B all motor with S5 9.7 comp. rotors. any help for daily driver power tips would help.

It's tougher to retain exact port timing beveling rotors, if that's what you're referring to...? If that's what you were going for, I'd have rotors beveled by machine so each position of the rotor shows the same port timing. Then I'd have them rebalanced. I'm not sure if that's what you are referring to.



The key to a daily driver is tuning the car for a certain powerband. Don't make huge ports on an N/A motor unless you plan on hanging out during most of your drive near the redline. I know you will probably want to say you will be, but not during stop and go you won't. Racecars that don't stop are hanging out near the redline.



A 20B has alot more of a torquey feel than a 13B. If you want to have alot of fun with an all motor 20B, and you're not bound by much in terms of volume level of exhaust or emissions, I'd run an all peripheral port 20B, but don't use large ports. Depends what tickles your fancy though. Smaller ports sacrifice final output horsepower, but who cares when you're powerband is twice as wide as the guy with bigger ports.

i am refering to "beveling" the rotors. i just wasnt sure of the name for it. i want to go 20B for the lower end power. and no, i wount say that i'll be hanging around the redline all day. only when i feel the need...and of course tuning is essential.



P-port....hmmmmm. no really what im going for. i think a street port is close enough to the limit on noise. dont want the tickets building up and becoming part of the build expences. but...you didnt really answer my quwstion....



wich makes more power and/or reliability...beveling the rotors or normal housing porting? lets say..an average size street port.

Never heard of anyone beveling rotors alone while using OEM portwork.



You would probably be very pleased with a streetport alone.
