When you do the combustion chambers, you said you use a sanding wheel on them! With a sanding wheel, wouldn't you take material off, and if so, how do you get all three faces even.

What sort of grit are the sanding wheels your using on the chambers?

On an s4 all three faces are not even. Thats the point I made above. You dont take much off here, just clean it up.

Yeah, you want to make sure the leading edge of the combustion recess is the same distance from the apex seal groove all the way around for even combustion.

Polish out the surface so less carbon sticks.

Then you "CC" the recesses by filling them w/ a graduated cylinder and noting/adjusting the volume so that the compression is the same all the way around.

Then get them rebalanced.

how did i get them even? a whole afternoon with a graduated cylinder! compliments of edmund scientific https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png compression ratio is now 9.5:1

sanding--80, 150, 220, 320, 320 w/wd40 works out to be around ~500ish or so, then some wierd construction paper "polishing" stuff, then off to the buffing wheel.
