This is a 13b high compression rotor, the machine work was done by some local engineer's in Auckland, NZ.
If anyone's got any idea's on anything that could be improved in the machining side of things I would interested in your suggestions. |
if you're referring to method, i don't think so. every lightened rotor i've ever seen pretty much looks like that. it's the path that makes the most sense ...
what's the final weight on that puppy? |
Could someone possibly post some websites up of companys that lighten rotors peferably usa/canada? thanks, mike
|
you can goto www.racingbeat.com how ever they want 1200 for 2 rotors
|
Enquire into some local engineering firms, I'm getting them done for $120NZD a pair.

how would you like to import them ot the US and make a couple of bucks? |
i was just thinking the same thing as you, i would be intrested in getting some rotors done
|
just curious though.... for the price of rotors, and the lightenning process on high compression rotors...
have you looked into rx8 rotors? they are probably lighter than the lightened rotors you just had done |
You know you have to cut the rx8 rotors to fit rx7 apex seals right? Also side seals may be an issue.

I looked into the RX8 rotors, but not many people I had spoken to had tried putting them in the older blocks, I now know it's possible and that they have higher compression, but the 6 port block came up at the time so I grabbed it while I had the chance.
About the importing/exporting, the high compression rotors don't come up for sale that often, but I can get ahold of them brand new from Mazda and then get them machined, the RX8 rotors from mazda are about 1/2 the price of the 13b 6 port rotors over here. |
