carbon buildup on a runnin reman with less than 20k..

decided on a tear down for ito portin..

heat stress discoloration.. reusable.. ?

Looks okay- less carbon than many I've seen.



As for the discolouration, check for side seal binding in that area- if it moves freely then don't worry about it.

Ya you got some carbon build-up (the rotaries are famous for it), but yours looks light and loose. Shouldn't be to hard to clean them up with some carb cleaner. As far as discoloratrion it doesn't mean much by itself. Your going to have to check your clearances after you clean out all the carbon to know for sure. But by the looks of it you should be alright.

By the loks of the discoloration and from were it seems to be marking the rotor I'd say it probably was caused by some blow-by gases leak between the corner and side seals gap

all of the T2's i had. had that much carbon in them. the new one i have i put two quarts of atf so it should be nice and shiny inside now https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png
