I would like to know how to block the coolant passage on TII rotor housing. I want to do this because the passages are blocked on my 13B-RE.

The Rear Iron nipple leading to the Thermowax? I fitted a small section of 3/8 hose on the nipple and plugged It with a ss bolt. Although everything was fairly snug - I went a head and added 2 ring gear connectors. Now, with my Engine disassembled - I pryed off the nipple, drilled a hole In It to tap In a steel plug. I tapped just a tad deep resulting In the steel plug being a 1/4" deeper than the top of the hole. No big deal. I just filled It with JB Weld for piece of mind.

I did that too! I used one of my broken exhaust studs from my 20B on it and another on the S4 waterpump. I installed hose clamps for peace of mind.

You can hammer in a freeze plug or tap and fit an -AN plug. Up to you.

As he said rotor housing, and not iron, he is referring to the coolant feed passages on the TII rotor housings meant to supply coolant through the intake manifold to the turbocharger. RE rotor housings do not have these feeds through the rotor housing, so to easily use them, you just fill the feed hole in the rotor housing.

Oh, ok. A 20mm freeze plug should work.

I use 50 cents. 25 cents per rotor housing works awesome. I've used 50 cents for more then 16 years. :-)..



First you add a decent amount of silicon around the inner edge of the coolant passage, then press the quarter in the inner groove of the coolant passage. Let it dry and your done. Simple an effective... and if one day your tearing the engine apart to replace rotor housings and your flat broke! you could always take your 50 cents back and buy a couple bags of doritos...:-)

I use 1/2" galvanized plugs after I grind the passage out to fit. I hammer the plug in then use JBWeld all around the sides and top, and let the JBweld cure flush overnight. I'll see if I can get some pictures of it.
