I have 2 S5 TII irons sitting here with a broken water seal wall at 2 points/iron. I'm wondering if it is possible to rebuild/reconstruct a water seal wall using something like steel putty?

I have posted before about a type of fence I use to hold the coolant seal inplace and works great.

Hmm, I've searched 4-5 different phrases and still found nothing. Perhaps I'm looking at the wrong threads. Could you please point me to the thread?

This pic might help... I hope.

Interesting... I'm curious how you held it in place though? It looks like on the lower edge of the bridge - port where you ported into the water passage it would leak.

BTW, thanks for the pic. Not exactly what I need (I was looking for something between the water seal and the water passage), but the general idea is the same I guess.

Just put the 2mm apex seal spring in the space between the seal and the water or the seal and the compression chamber. Same difference just giving you a general idea on how to do it.

Believe me... I would love to go out to cali and help you do it in person cause its freakin' freezing over here!!

i have a rotor housing with corosion that is from the seal groove to the water jacket area, it is small, not longer than .150. can this be fixed or do i need another housing?

if there is a loose piece remove it and use the above method to keep the coolant seal in place.
