I need some help i have never worked on a rotory engine before, and my mechanic told me the seals are gone. So do i go buy new apex selas and hope for the best, buy a rebuild kit, and hope for the best, or buy a rebuilt motor. The car is stored at a machine shop and i can get the machining free... Any advice?

Oh yah if i decide to rebuild is there much i can do to the motor without spending money IE: porting i dont know what else there is..

Thanks

there is almost no machining to do inside a rotary, its an inspect and replace as needed thing. it depends on what seals go bad/ mileage how bad it will be inside there

whats wrong with the car? how does it run? does it run?

smoke white ? smoke blue out teh tailpipe?

which seals are gone? how does the mechanic know?

The car blow's white smoke the engine has 140,000/km or 100,000 miles. Its sputers when starting it up and runs really rough the engine and tranny move lots. I rev it up it feels like i have no power but i can get up to 7000 rpm no problem. Should i port the intakes when i pull it apart? I ordered the video on rebuilding these engines. And i was thinking about a kit for roughly $550.00 U.S. I belive its the apex seals. As far as the mechanic he has done the past work on the car but i dont know about his knowledge level.
