well im gonan attempt to port my own engine. i am gonan practice on junk housings and endplates. i am going to order templates soon. i am wondering whats teh differece between the Racing Beat Race exhaust port( http://racingbeat.com/resultset.asp?PartNumber=22216 ) vs the Racing Beat Streetable exhaust tepmlate( http://racingbeat.com/resultset.asp?PartNumber=22215 )

i am going to be useing this car for the street, but i wanna make around 350rwhp. the exhaust port helps turbo spool right? wouldnt a bigger port spool up turbo best?

im guessing the race port is a larger port and creates more overlap, and yes larger port usually translates to faster spoolup

Be careful with late exhaust closing. My experience is that it can cause undesirable turbo response and do weird things to the powerband.

(Mine used to make little boost until about 4000 RPM, at which point it came on hard, like a switch. Then at 6000 it would spike up 3 psi, necessitating an electronic boost controller. Now I have a milder exhaust port, and it gives much better response characteristics with no power loss noted)

I am in a similar situation. I am going to be porting my intakes with Judge Ito's porting templates. Would the Racing Beat street exhaust port be a good match for the aggressive intake porting? Or should I go with something larger? Also, is there any chance of passing emissions with that exhaust porting?

I can't give you a definitive answer, but from my experience it seems that once you start porting a motor it becomes very difficult to pass emissions testing. There are people who do it, but it's a good bit more difficult than when using stock ports. Just some food for thought.

im in florida so emissions is not a problem for me. and i am going to be ordering the street ones tonight.
