easy way to line them up to the tab spot when pressing them back in?

take a straight edge ruler but it up against the bearing and draw two lines.

Grind the tab off. Paint the hole in the rotor with red Loctite. Press the bearing home without stopping.

I have never lost one done this way. There is nothing to align with that tab. It won't help at all if the bearing seizes onto the crank.
